Description
In Buddhism, the term mala stands for a prayer chain that is comparable to a Catholic rosary and is worn on both the neck and the wrist.
Malas are used in mantra chanting. Whether you count the chants or use them as an aid to focus is up to you.
Bodhi Chitta Mala consists of the seeds of a Bodhi fruit that grows on a Bodhi tree. Bodhi means awakening, enlightenment and knowledge in Sanskrit. In Nepal, the Bodhichitta seeds are mostly harvested in Kavrepalanchowk Temal area. Bodhi beads are threaded to make rosaries which are used to count mantras. These rosaries have very high religious and spiritual importance in Buddhism.
